My Tenor Saxophone Testimony

God can defiantly turn a problem into a blessing. I have a great testimony about something that happened to me very recently.

In October 2010 I ask my parents to buy a tenor saxophone for me. It was not until January 2011 that I received a used one which should have send up I red flag then. I was so eager to get it that the fact that my parent took their sweet time getting it did not bother me. In just a few weeks, a number of problems happened to it. Cork was missing, the pearls from inside several keys fell out of the keys, several keys were out of line, the neck would not get tight, the bottom thumb rest was loose, and a dent was in it. I could not at all play it at this point. I was very irate to say the lest. This just had my parents stench all over it. I am a humble person that does not ask for much. I know that my parents are not the richest people in the world, but this shows the little effort they put into buying it. I love my parents ,but there are honestly the most unreliable and untrustworthy people I have ever know. It not just this. There are numerous examples. However, the person that I should be most upset towards is myself for trusting them. You may be thinking that is a bad thing to say about my parents, but look at the situation from my perspective. Would you respect someone that gave you a broken useless gift, especially if it is something that is dear to you that you waited for over three months to get?

Any way, I was told by my private saxophone instructor to take it to a shop to repair it. I ask a very talented student if he can take me to the shop, but his schedule was to busy. I then asked another student if he can take me. He said that he can take me the next day however he never came. At this point I was getting apperhinsive because I had a performance in about a week and I wanted to make sure that the tenor saxophone had enough time in the shop to get repaired. I then asked Miss Lisa, a faculty member at my college if she can take me. She said yes, but because of her schedules, it would be better for her if she took the tenor saxophone herself and dropped off the shop for me. I promised Miss Lisa, when my next check came, I will reimburse her. When she dropped it off, it was on a Thursday. To my surprise, It was ready by that following Friday. I received my check in the mail that day, but I was not able because I something already planned to do that afternoon. I did not feel comfterable taking it without reimbursing  Miss Lisa, so I waited until Monday to get my saxophone. When Monday came, I gave Miss the money. Shortly afterwards, Miss Lisa came to me. She said she talk to the dean of the Center of Performing Arts department and he agreed to pay for the entire repair for my saxophone! I got my instrument fixed for free!

What I think is really amazing about this is everything that had to be planned right for me getting my instrument fixed for free. The first person I asked had to be to busy to take me. The second person had to be a flake. If one of them had taken me, that person would not have paid for the repairs. I would have paid for it. Miss Lisa was the right person made available at the right time. What my parents meant for my harm, God used as a example of his greatness! I received favor. God did it for me, so he can do it for you! Keep hope alive!

Why I am a Vegetarian

  • To end world hungar. It takes pounds of wheat and grain to feed one cow.
  • Most meat has an unappitizing odor.
  • Studies have shown that eating meat can cause alzheimer disease.
  • Many animals such as chicken eat from their own waste. It is so cramp in factory farms that they cannot help but do that. The factory farm owners do not try to stop that because of the rapid rate the animal are forced to mate. Fish swim in their waste. There is now toilet in the water and yes fish is meat; it is not planted in the ground. One person I knew tried to argue that by saying that we use manure to grow plants. I said that plants take the nitrogen and other nutrients from manure. It is not digest and flow within their flesh.
  • Many animals are forces feed to the point were their internal organs explored.
  • A vegetarin diet is better for digestion.
  • It is better for the global economy. Running a factory is much more expensive than running a plant nursery.
  • It is better for the environment. Factory farms pullote the air by burning so much fossil fuel; they pollute the wate and air because of the excess waste from the animals.

Blindness

When we hear that someone is blind, our mind usually think of the physical blindness that involves our eyes. There is another type of blindness that is not a physical impairment. It is dealing with situations we do not want to accept such as a parent not wanting to accept the fact that his or her child is living a dangerous life; a spouse not wanting to accept the fact his or her partner is abusive and unfaithful ;or someone not wanting to accept the fact that he or she is addicted to something. It is hard to overcome such a blindness because we sometimes fall into temptation and fail to take responsibility for our actions. How do we overcome this blindness? We must first begin by admitting that this blindness is a worst existence than the physical blindness that we choose to live.
